Genuine WW2 silver grade Wehrmacht. Infanterie Sturmmabzeichen (Infantry Assault Badge) marked MK on rear, with intact pin. The silver class was instituted in December 1939 and was awarded to infantry soldiers according to one of the following criteria. To have taken part in at least three infantry assaults (including counter-attacks). At least three armed reconnaissance operations.

Engaged in hand-to-hand combat in an assault position, or. Participated on three separate days in the reestablishment of combat positions. This is a zinc-based silver Infantry Assault Badge that marked MK (within a triangle) on the reverse in raised letters.

This stands for Mettal und Kunstoff and this type is referred to as the MK in triangle. Has the oval shaped crimping area around the hinge; the same type can be seen in the book The Infantry Assault Badge by Sascha Weber on page 72, it has the typical bubbling to the finish on the reverse common to this maker.
