WWI WWII German Army Officers Lion Head Sword, Scharnhorst model, Eickhorn

WWI WWII German Army Officers Lion head sword, this is the Scharnhorst Pattern from Eickhorns Field Marshal series. This has a gilded aluminum hilt, shows some gold gilt loss here and there, but still plenty left. Lion head has red glass eyes.

The celluloid grip is perfect, no cracks or chips and the silvered wire wrap is complete. Has the original officers knot with it, and knot has no issues. The blade measures 34 1/4 inches long and has two very small nicks in it, more felt than seen.

The blade is straight, no bends, no sharpening, and the blade point is perfect. It does have some runner marks or scratches on it. The blade still has a nice polish to it.

Blade has the Eickhorn/Squirrel marking. Scabbard has its original black paint, no dents, about 65/70% of the black paint remains. Overall a very pretty and ornate Wehrmacht Officers Sword.
