German Army M31 Canteen with Carrying Loop, Outstanding Piece

  
This is a German Army M31 Canteen with Carrying Loop (WM Feldflasche M31 mit Koppeltrageschlaufe aus Leder). This is an Heer M31 canteen with the leather belt loop. The bottle is marked "RZM, M6/4/38" on the cap, neck, and inner lining. These two number indicate that this canteen was manufactured in 1938. The leather strap and felt are undamaged.

Original seal is evident inside the cap. The wearer's name can be found behind the strap. A beautiful early set, with signs of patina and appropriate signs of age and wear. There is some shrinkage to the wool cover and to keep from tearing it the top three snaps are unsnapped. Still a super nice example of the M31 canteen.
