Original German WWII M40 ET68 Single Decal Army Heer Helmet with Chinstrap

Original German WWII M40 ET68 Single Decal Army Heer Helmet with Chinstrap. This is an excellent all original example. This stamped sheet steel construction with rolled edges helmet retains 99% of its original rough textured paint. The left side of the helmet features a crisp Heer eagle decal. The decal is retained 99%, this is about as good as you find decals on combat helmets. The interior of the helmet still has the original M31 leather liner with all eight of its fingers and original tie-string, in very nice condition with ink mark 60.

All three liner retaining rivets are all intact. A reinforced aluminum liner stamped Metall Lederverarbeitung (Werner Zahn) 1940 Berlin Charlottenburg.

On the other side one can find the markings 68 n. Also included is an original complete chin strap with aluminium buckles and studs. The leather of this chin strap is cracked in some places and has been shortened in the past which was often the case.

Indicating it was manufactured by Eisenhuttenwerk AG, Thale Harz. The lot number 4847 is stamped on the back apron. Inspection stamp or dome stamp Abgenommen, Wehrmacht-Beschaffungsamt u.

Ausrustung the rest is not clearly visible. Overall an excellent extra large size 68 M40 Single Decal Heer Army helmet! M40 helmets of this quality are always the hardest to find on the market. This is an item that will only continue to appreciate in value over time.
