ARMY 28th INFANTRY DIVISION PATCHED OD WOOL IKE JACKET, 1945 DATED WITH RARE GERMAN MADE 28th INFANTRY DIVISION DI INSIGNIA AND RELATED OD WOOL BLUE INFANTRY PIPED OVERSEAS HAT WITH MATCHING 28th I. JACKET FEATURES A SEWN THEATER MADE (RIBBED) 28th INFANTRY DIVISION ON THE LEFT SHOULDER. OF NOTE: THE GERMANS CALLED THIS INFANTRY DIVISION "THE BLOODY BUCKET DIVISION" BECAUSE THEIR ALL RED KEYSTONE PATCH LOOKED LIKE AN UPSIDE DOWN BUCKET THAT WAS FILLED WITH BLOOD TO THEM! JACKET ALSO FEATURES THE FOLLOWING; METAL U. AND INFANTRY (CROSSED RIFLES) COLLAR INSIGNIA, RARE GERMAN MADE 28th I. DI INSIGNIA DEVICES (PIN BACK) TO LAPELS, A PIN BACK PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION BAR WITH CLUSTER TO RIGHT BREAST, EUROPEAN, AFRICAN AND MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN SERVICE MEDAL RIBBON BAR TO LEFT BREAST AND SEWN WOOL S/SGT RANK CHEVRONS TO SLEEVES. JACKET FEATURES A TWO POCKET FRONT AND RETAINS ALL OF IT'S ORIGINAL BUTTONS. INTERIOR OF THE JACKET IS FULLY LINED AND FEATURES TWO INTERIOR POCKETS. ONE POCKET RETAINS IT'S 1945 DATED QM TAG MARKED FOR SIZE 38R. THERE IS ALSO A SIZE TAG TO COLLAR MARKED FOR SIZE 38R. MEASUREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS, 18'' FROM SHOULDER TO SHOULDER, 19" FROM ARMPIT TO ARMPIT, SLEEVES MEASURE 24" IN LENGTH AND THE JACKET MEASURES 22 IN HEIGHT FROM IT'S TOP TO IT'S BOTTOM. THIS JACKET IS IN VERY GOOD AND CLEAN CONDITION, SHOWING LIGHT USE, AGE AND WEAR HAVING NO TEARS, NO HOLES AND NO STAINS.
