The two photographs were taken from different angles and appear to depict the same group of soldiers and artillery piece. The reverse of both photographs contains original period handwritten German annotations, including the date Dez. The notes appear to identify several of the soldiers by rank and/or name.
One inscription also appears to reference "Rußland" (Russia), indicating the photographs were likely taken on the Eastern Front. The artillery piece shown appears to be an early-war German 3.7 cm PaK anti-tank gun, making these photographs an interesting historical reference for military historians and collectors. Original vintage WWII photographs (not reproductions). Dated December 1942 on the reverse.
