Vintage WW2 German Military Medical Basket Bag Wicker Leather Canvas

  
This is a vintage wicker, canvas and leather field basket sourced from France. The top has the words holzabbretterkorb which means wooden basket in German. German WW2 medical baskets were similar in construction but I cannot find anything exactly like this. The main structure of the basket is wicker with a slatted wooden base. Inside is a leather strap diagonally across the base, a leather holder with a number of open ended sections in various sizes. In the lid is a leather holder possibly for documents. It has leather strap and corners and green canvas cover.

Generally good condition for age just loose wicker in a couple of places. 56 x 30 x 20cm.
