WW2 Original German Army Division Command Staff Vehicle Flag
Original WW2 German Army Division Command Staff Vehicle Flag (Wehrmacht Heer Divisionkomandostabflaggen) , made of a multi-piece cotton material on a metal frame. Sometimes called the Division Headquarters flag. Used on all vehicles that form part of Divisional Headquarters, but still quite rare. This is a standard mid to late war example. They do not have unit identifiers on them (unlike pre-war ones which did), and metal frame has strengthening rods inside, and two protruding pieces for the clamp that attaches them to the metal flag staff rod. Flag is tightly stitched, and has some minor marks/staining but no damage light brown spotting on the white area on one side. Material is cotton, and frame is magnetic, presumably nickel plated iron. Plating on exposed pieces is worn, and metal has minor rust spots showing.
Flag is 36cm (14.17 in) wide and 22cm (8.66 in) high. Protruding connectors add 8.2mm (0.32 in) to width. Diameter of the wire is 4mm (0.16 in) and overall length of protrusion is 25.9mm (1.02 in). Flag weighs 170g (6.0 oz).
These clamps are iron, and have some surface rust, but are solid and complete. They are the correct size for the protruding connectors on the flag. The 4 clamps weigh a total of 32g (1.1 oz).
