Hilt & Guard: Gilded brass stirrup-style guard featuring detailed oak leaf engraving and the Army eagle on the obverse shield. Custom Monogram: Features a period custom-engraved "TG" monogram cipher on the reverse shield (langet), indicating custom officer ownership. Grip: Ribbed black grip completely intact with original wire wrap firmly in place. Blade: Single-edged curved fullered steel blade, Solingen maker marked beneath the langet. Measures bright overall with area-specific nickel plating flaking/peeling near the ricasso/base as shown in detailed photos. Scabbard: Original magnetic steel scabbard with single suspension ring, retaining much of its original dark finish with minor light surface age wear.Excellent gilding remains on the hilt. The blade shows expected age-related plating loss near the top, but no edge nicks. Never cleaned, polished, or altered.
