WWII German Army Other Ranks Greatcoat with Dark Green Collar. The greatcoat has the early dark bottle green collar (later examples had the field green colour throughout), but the field green material is of a lower quality than usual for early examples, indicating that it is probably mid to later war.
The coat is also double breasted and has 2 rows of 6 grey metal front buttons. There are 2 side slash pockets set at a slight angle, with rounded pocket flaps. The arms have turnback cuffs, which measure the regulation 15 cm. The back has a half belt. The shoulders have loops and buttons for the slip-on shoulder straps however these straps are not present. The inside of the coat is partially lined in grey artificial silk and dark grey cloth. There is a tear in the grey black lining material, but no material is lost so it could be repaired. The maker's details are for Tiller of Mariahilferstrasse 22, Wien VII. Tiller was a renowned uniform maker in Vienna, making uniforms for officers, including Hermann Goring in the later War years. There is one slit at the waist for suspending the sword hanger. The condition is good on the exterior, with no apparent repairs or holes.
