WWII WW2 Original German U-boat U-boot Tradition Badge Abzeichen Snowman U-201

  
A very nice known example of a known U-boat cap tradition emblem depicting the snowman. This particular emblem being attributed to the crew of U-201, during its time under the command of Kptlt. "Schnee" in itself meaning "snow", and hence the association / superstition was formed. Schnee himself would oversee 7 individual patrols at the helm of U-201 and earned the Oak Leaves to his Knights Cross upon the final of these patrols before leaving the boat.
