These were brought back by a US Veteran at the end of the war. The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6x30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7x50, 8x30, 10x50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issued to personnel on a limited basis. Made of brass and steel by ddx, these 6 x 30 power binoculars are in EXCELLENT used condition! The lens bodies retain about 90% of their original paint and finish, and the end piece fittings are 100% intact!
The focus adjustments still function, but the image is a bit foggy, as you cans ee in the photos. The right side body is marked Dienstglas (Service Binoculars), 6x30, ddx (Voigtlander und Sohn). As they are in used condition, there are some slight marks and scratches throughout. The bakelite case is the original that came with this set... But I think thee leather straps/fittings were repalced at one time.
A VERY NICE example, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display! Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft Fw190, Me262, etc. , as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. Use is solely based on my authorization only. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
