Military belts and buckles date back hundreds of years, and were originally designed for attaching swords and daggers. Fist introduced in 1935, the Luftwaffe Belt and Buckle underwent minor modifications. In 1937, it received a new pattern eagle and then again in 1940 with a slight difference of construction. Luftwaffe personnel originally utilized brown leather, but during the war, the leather items were usually blackened.
Made of canvas web, this 1940 pattern belt is in SUPERB condition! Some slight wear, but no cracks or damage! This is the EARLY variant that features a canvas tongue, as opposed to the more common leather one. Retains an ink stamp indicating "85" (85cm length), as well as a faint manufacture stamp (unreadable, but appears to be a 1940 or 1942 date). 100% complete and VERY RARE in this condition, it would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display! Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft Fw190, Me262, etc. , as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. Use is solely based on my authorization only. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
