These were brought back by US veteran at the end of the war. The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6x30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7x50, 8x30, 10x50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis.
Made of aluminum and steel by Ernst Leitz, these 6 x 30 power binoculars are in GOOD used condition! Though much of the original finish is missing, the end piece fittings are 100% intact! The focus adjustment still functions correctly, and the optics are in PERFECT alignment!
No dust or debris internally, and the right lens features a ranging scale. Comes complete with the original neck strap. The bakelite case is the original to this set. It is in VERY NICE condition, apart from the leater straps, which are missing. Otherwise, an EXCELELNT example, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
