Extremely Rare to have this number of prints together. A stunning portfolio of 21 photomechanical reproductions by Walter Gotschke from 1941-42.

13 in black and white and 8 in full color. Date Created/Published: Berlin: OKH; Jupp Daehler, [1942]. The portfolio is 27cm x 33cm Reproductions on sheets that measure 26cm x 32cm hinge-mounted.

Summary: Reproductions of charcoal drawings and watercolors by Walter Gotschke. Views of German soldiers, tanks, and armored vehicles in action; battle scenes; on the road; knocking out enemy artillery; closeups of soldiers; officers giving orders; and a night attack. Printed captions in German under each image. Original drawings signed: Gotschke and dated 1941 or 1942.

Also included are 2 copies of "Certificates of Claim of Capture Army Equipment" items referred to as "two folders of sketches of the German Army" released to Sergeant William J. Core in 1944 (I presume that refers to the color series and the black-and-white series). WALTER GOTSCHKE has been called the world's greatest automobile artist, he worked for Daimler-Benz, Ford Germany, Das Auto, Maybach, Goodyear, Fiat, Nissan, Volkswagen and many more through the 1990s. After being drafted in WW2 he was sent to report on a tank regiment for a propaganda magazine, Signal. His work earned him the Carl Schnebel Prize for best war press drawing in 1941.
