A nice example of the steel Gestell 38 optic tripod, as was primarily issued with the 10x80 Flak fernrohr binoculars, but also employed with other larger wartime binocular variants as well. This one has at some stage has received a reissue blue/turquiose overpaint, but clearly retains most of the original wartime factory tan paint beneath!
It is clearly maker code marked'bvu' to signify manufacture by Kuhlmann, Franz, Werkstaetten fur Praezisonnmechanik u. The tripod still folds out to be used at the normal height, but some work to free up the adjustment knobs and extendable function of each individual leg. Many thanks for looking and please feel free to check out our other WWII German equipment items etc. Please note this item is also listed elsewhere online and is likely to be removed without any prior warning.
